We are looking for an EU-ITN Network Manager

EU – funded collaborative research and training network (Marie Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network “PEP-NET: Predictive Epigenetics” under the coordination of Prof. Dr. Leonie Ringrose.

We are looking for a full-time employed network manager (salary group E13, TV-L HU) for the administration and organisation of an EU – funded collaborative research and training network (Marie Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network “PEP-NET: Predictive Epigenetics”). The network unites 16 European laboratories and companies, and will train a cohort of 15 PhD students to combine experimental epigenetics and mathematical modelling.

The successful candidate will work closely for the funded period of the ITN Network (4 years) with the coordinator of the network, Prof. Leonie Ringrose at the “Campus Nord” of the Humboldt University, located in central Berlin.

The network manager will have the following responsibilities:

  • Manage the PEP-NET project in direct cooperation with the coordinator. The network manager will be the main contact person for all participating partners.
  • Establish and maintain the project data management system, in collaboration with IT professionals.
  • Ensure that all project deliverables and milestones are fulfilled in time (i.e., recruitment of students, data management plan, research, events, and training).
  • Manage the overall budget of the project.
  • Prepare scientific, managerial and financial reports for the European Commission.
  • Coordinate the organisation and logistics of the training program.
  • Ensure effective and timely exchange of information, material and financial accounts between partners, the Humboldt University administration, and the European Commission.

Qualifications and experience: 
The candidate should have excellent organisational skills and enjoy working in an independent and pro- active manner as well as working in a team, across a broad range of functions and with maximum flexibility in a dynamic environment. Effective multi-tasking and the ability to work to tight deadlines are also required. Demonstrated experience in preparation and/or management of research networks on the national or European level is an advantage. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to move between the scientific and managerial level are essential. An excellent standard of written and spoken English is mandatory, and German would be an advantage. The candidate should hold a PhD or equivalent qualification in life sciences or natural sciences.
