We are looking for a graduate program coordinator

The DFG-funded International Research Training Group (IRTG)is a cooperation between HU and Duke University.

Positions comes with salary E13 TVL-HU and 30 hours working time per week (75%).

The IRTG coordinator will have the following responsibilities:

  • Manage all IRTG-related subjects in direct cooperation with the spokeperson. The coordinator will be the main contact person for all participating PIs and PhDs students.
  • Manage the overall budget of the project.
  • Coordinate the organisation and logistics of the training program (i.e. workshops, retreats and research stays abroad) including to carry out all related administrative procedures for PIs and PhD students
  • Prepare scientific, managerial and financial reports for the DFG.
  • Ensure effective and timely exchange of information, material and financial accounts between partners, the Humboldt University administration, and the DFG.
  • Maintain the website
  • Organize outreach program

Qualifications and experience: 
The candidate should have excellent organisational skills and enjoy working in an independent and pro-active manner as well as working across a broad range of functions in a dynamic environment. Effective multi-tasking and the ability to work to tight deadlines are also required. The candidate must be willing to become acquainted with all aspects of adminsitative policies and regulations at Humboldt University and from the DFG. 

Demonstrated experience in preparation and/or management of research networks in an university setting on is an advantage.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. An excellent standard of written and spoken English is mandatory, and German would be an advantage. The candidate should hold a PhD or equivalent qualification in life sciences or natural sciences.
